About Bonnie Fuller

Bonnie Fuller has been a member and friend of CCAMRE since the year 2000 when she first met her good friend and founder of CCAMRE, Hilda Rossi.
Bonnie was introduced to the hardships of life when she was a little girl in the 1950's, witnessing her father donate money and clothing to those less fortunate in Guatemala and Canada's Aboriginal peoples in Northern Ontario.

She knew at a very early age that happiness came from serving others and was determined to serve those less fortunate.
For more than fifteen years, Bonnie held Administrative support and Project Development positions in the Ontario health system. Her dedication and hard work brought about positive change for staff.
In 2006, Bonnie Fuller, created the first annual CCAMRE calendar which has been very successful in spreading the CCAMRE vision.

As a retiree, Bonnie now dedicates her life to CCAMRE's vision. She was elected Secretary of the Board of Directors of CCAMRE in June 2010. Bonnie helped organize the recent 2011 Spring Mission to the Merendon Mountains in Guatemala. While on the ground in Guatemala, Bonnie oversaw the CCAMRE Seniors Project and the Economic Development Project.
During the Mission, Bonnie clearly recognized that the children of the Merendon Mountains experience hunger every day. With their hunger along with the lack of proper schooling, the children's' chances of educational prospects for the future are greatly reduced. She is hoping that a Child Sponsorship program will be developed which will provide nutrition and an enhanced education, a chance for a better future and quality of life.

During the 2011 Mission, Bonnie visited the seniors of Volcancito and noted that their living conditions are deplorable. All live in Adobe huts which are small and decrepit. None have bathrooms or chimneys to vent the black exhaust caused by their fire pits contained within the hut. They require medical attention as they are hobbled by aches and pains.

Mrs. Santos Amador is the oldest senior, age 80.
Her daughter, Mrs. Vitalina Amador, is a widow with 8 children.
Through generous cash donations from Dr. Richard Morris and a Friend of CCAMRE who prefers to remain anonymous, and with the help from the Municipality of La Union, a new home will be built for this Mrs. Amador and her daughter and children. Bonnie is spearheading this project.

Bonnie is a very courageous and truthful person that decided to go and saw with her own eyes the material and spiritual needs of the less fortunate in the Merendon Mountains and with her compassion and generosity she looked for a way to help them.
